Nick Boulle Returns to TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks
All The World of deBoulle

Nick Boulle returns to race the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20.

Boulle will be joining Era Motorsport for the first time alongside co-driver Christian Rasmussen. They will race the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in their No. 18 ORECA 07 LMP2.

Team members will rotate in and out of the car in selected pit-sops during this two-hour, forty-minute race, uniquely measured by time rather than laps to test participants in endurance and determination. The official Battle on the Bricks race takes place from 2:10 - 4:50 p.m. CT Sunday, September 20.

“I have been out of an LMP2 car and competition for a year, so it may take me a bit to warm up, but I'm super excited by the challenge we have coming up this weekend,” Boulle says.

“I'm particularly looking forward to getting to work with Era Motorsport. I know Kyle Tilley puts together a great car, and the team has clearly executed well in the past, so this was an opportunity we couldn't pass up.

Boulle’s passion for racing began in early childhood and has played a defining role in shaping the character and work ethic he now uses to lead deBoulle’s Houston location. This year has been especially meaningful for the driver and businessman, as he recently became a father of two.

While much of his time lately has been spent in the backyard rather than on the racetrack, Boulle is eager to make a return to competition. The Indianapolis weekend is more than another race on the calendar, but it is a newfound opportunity to share with his growing family the perseverance, discipline, and values motorsports has brought in his own upbringing

“This coming together for Indianapolis Motor Speedway could not have worked out better.”  Boulle says. “It's an iconic circuit that also happens to be one of my favorite tracks.”

Four separate classes of cars will race simultaneously on the 14-turn, 2.439-mile road course, where drivers from all over the world compete for an overall victory as well as first place within their respective class. The Battle on the Bricks atmosphere is highly competitive, fitting for the Motorsport capital of the World. The varying speeds of vehicles within the four classes make for intense racing and plenty of traffic to navigate throughout the course.

The four divisions of cars in the series are comprised of two styles including prototype, which showcases the latest automotive technology and are designed intentionally for the racetrack, and GT, which is based on road-going production models.

Boulle’s class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship falls under the first category. He will be driving the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), a closed-cockpit car developed by four approved constructors. In addition to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, LMP2 cars are eligible to compete in other global series such as the FIA World Endurance Championship, which includes the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The weekend-long championship unites racers and fans from across the world to celebrate a shared love of the track and fierce competition. Festivities begin on Friday, September 18.
