By de Boulle on July 18th, 2012

The 50th anniversary of the Rolex Daytona 24 Hour Race will be taking place this weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona International Speedway. Racing drivers from around the world will compete in both Grand Touring cars as well as Daytona Prototypes for the coveted prize in this spectacular motorsport competition, a Stainless Steel Rolex Daytona. Drivers as well as team members of the winning team of the Rolex Daytona 24HR race each receive Stainless Steel Rolex Daytona timepieces with an engraving on the back of each watch. Teams competing in the Rolex 24Hours of Daytona compete to win Stainless Steel Rolex Daytona watches with white dials while the winners of the 24Hour Rolex Daytona Motorcycle Race compete for Stainless Steel Rolex Daytona timepieces with black dials.

Drivers race in cars that range from race-ready Daytona Prototype racecars which will do 190MPH on the banks of Daytona International Speedway to Porsche GT3 Cup cars. Each car hopes to finish the full 24hr race with their team of racing drivers safe and free from any mechanical woes, but few escape the Rolex Daytona 24HR race without facing some form of drama.
